The Cuvée Collector by J. Moreau & Fils
A gem from Chablis to discover this spring
J. Moreau & Fils, founded in 1814 in Chablis, transformed in 2014 in Tahiti!
After the success of its Anniversary Edition, 200 magnums of Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2009, and of its exclusive magnum carafe to magnify this iconic wine, J. Moreau & Fils has decided to extend its bicentenary celebrations with a very festive and somewhat offbeat product.
Its emblematic cuvée, Chablis, has been selected as the Collector version of the 2014 vintage.
This is a well-structured wine with a lovely luster, all about finesse with a subtle, slightly smoky minerality. The packaging evokes the distinctive terroir of the Chablis region. It is currently gently polishing its personality during the slow phase of ageing on lees, and will show its true colors during blending in the spring, after a winter in the cellar, maturing like all great wines. For those who don't know, 2014 in Burgundy has all the making of an excellent vintage, and promises a Chablis with a pearly sparkle.
The house winemaker, Lucie Depuydt, combines her perfect knowledge of the local geology with a gentle hand to bring out the greatness in the Chablis wines signed J. Moreau & Fils.
Unveiled a few months from now, the first bottles will be available in spring and showcased at Vinexpo in June, one of the tradeshow's highlights.
